Joseph Ball – Your Labour Candidate for Kentish Town South By-Election

I’m Joseph Ball and I’m standing to be your councillor in Kentish Town South on Thursday 5 September.

As a local businessman, charity trustee, and youth sports coach, I know Kentish Town well. I love this area and I’m passionate about giving back to our community. That’s why I’m standing to be your Labour councillor.

Originally from Yorkshire, I moved to London after university and have worked in Camden since 2017, now living on Prince of Wales Road. Kentish Town South is a diverse ward, which is a microcosm of our fantastic borough. From the picturesque Kelly Street to the Torriano and Peckwater estates, I know that it is a strong community and I will get to work delivering for everyone.

Knowing the challenges and opportunities of our local economy, I will work to promote high quality jobs in our area. As a sports coach, I believes in the power of sport to shape young people’s lives, its role in promoting physical and mental health, so I will advocate to improve sports facilities in Kentish Town and across Camden. Having worked in the charitable sector as a trustee and advisor, I am committed to ensuring that our society works for everyone and will represent residents diligently.

If elected, I will be a strong voice for our community at the Town Hall. I will work hard from day one to reopen our tube station, build more council homes, make Kentish Town more sustainable, clamp down on antisocial behaviour, and help residents through the cost of living crisis.

Joseph’s Five Point Plan for Kentish Town South

  • Sorting out housing repairs on our estates, improving the service as well as pushing for new social rent homes.
  • Making Kentish Town more sustainable with funding for trees, cycle hangars and greener travel measures on our streets.
  • Supporting improvements to our high streets and local transport routes, including reopening Kentish Town Tube.
  • Clamping down on antisocial behaviour in our community with upgraded CCTV rolled out on our housing estates.
  • Helping residents through the cost of living crisis through our Council Tax Support Scheme and other grants.
