Tricia Leman – Your Labour Candidate for Camden Square By-Election

I’m Tricia Leman and I’m standing to be your councillor in Camden Square on Thursday 5 September.

I have lived in Camden for over 35 years and raised my family here. I was a teacher and school governor, and am passionate about ensuring that every child in every community can achieve their full potential. I grew up in South Wales in a single-parent family and saw firsthand what it was like for my mum to bring up a family on her own.

Camden Square is a fantastic, diverse ward from the iconic Maiden Lane to the charming Camden Mews. I know that it is a strong community and I will deliver for people across our area.

Despite the challenges of the last Tory government, our Camden Labour Council delivered so much – from free school meals to primary school children, to building over 1,500 new homes, such as on Agar Grove.

But there is always more to do. I will work hard from day one on my five point plan below – supporting residents with repairs and the cost of living crisis, investing in our young people and active travel, and clamping down on antisocial behaviour.

I hope to win your support in this important by-election on September 5th.

Tricia’s Five Point Plan for Camden Square

  • Sorting out housing repairs on our estates, improving the service and holding housing associations to account.
  • Making our area greener with more funding for trees, cycle hangars and greener travel measures on our streets.
  • Supporting activities for young people, from early years services to funding youth work and investing in our schools.
  • Clamping down on antisocial behaviour in our community with upgraded CCTV rolled out on our housing estates.
  • Helping residents through the cost of living crisis through our Council Tax Support Scheme and other grants.
