Meric has lived in Kentish Town since 1986 and served as Labour Councillor since 2010. He is a founding member of Kentish Town Community Centre which is a thriving hub for local residents. He has been a committed champion to improve housing conditions for council residents as well as for private sector tenants. Meric served as Chair of the Housing Scrutiny Committee for five years and then as a Cabinet Member since 2017. An electrician by trade, Meric has brought up two sons, both of whom went to Camden schools.
